Competition Rules

  1. Entries must be received by the closing date of 20 April 2009. Only one entry per person.
  2. Entries will only be accepted from amateur photographers/filmmakers. Your full name, address and telephone number must accompany your entry, together with your age if under 18. Your details will only be used in connection with this competition - they will not be passed on to any other organisation.
  3. Photographs may be in colour or black and white. We will accept photographic entries that have been modified in programs such as Photoshop.
  4. All photographs/films must have been made during 2009. Each entry should be submitted with a short written commentary explaining the concept behind the photographs/film.
  5. The person who sends the photo/film to us (referred to as "you" from now on) must hold the copyright for it, and you must have the right to allow its publication. By submitting your entry you are certifying that your work is wholly original and does not make use of any copyrighted work in any medium unless permission by all copyright holders has been given
  6. Photos or films containing people: by submitting an entry to us you are declaring that any individuals featured have given their consent.
  7. By sending an entry to us, you grant us permission to publish the photo/film - or any part of it - on the Big City Plan website, and in any other media we choose (e.g. our community newspaper 'Forward').
  8. Photos or films should be made within the Birmingham area.
  9. We reserve the right not to publish your entry.
  10. Content published on the Internet can be copied and used by other people. If you don't want to run the risk of your image or film being used without your permission, you should not send it to us. We will not accept any liability if it is copied from our website and subsequently used elsewhere without your permission.
  11. The prize is non-transferable for cash.
  12. The winning entry decision is final and the winners will be notified in April 2009.
